But God

We just had a but God moment. I check my registries a couple of times a week for when my expensive items go on sale. The travel system (car seat/stroller combo) went on sale this week - FINALLY! It took forever. In light of what happened last week, we have been searching for a comparable travel system for a better price. We found one, and the reviews were not good. So we passed. But last night I saw my travel system on sale, and we just got the registry completion coupon. So we had to jump on it.

We arrived at the store and went to go get the system, and the color we wanted was gone. Only the green one was left, and the sale price was not showing. So we went to customer service. The guy told us that sometimes the prices online are different. So we asked about having it shipped. And when he checked in the system he noticed it was on clearance, and they had the floor model left! So we went to check it out. It was indeed my system, and we got an extra 30% off for getting the floor model. We got the Babies R Us credit card to save 10% more, and then we used the completion coupon. Our travel system started at 239.99 dropped to $118!!!!!!  And he threw the base in there!!!! We used a gift card from Miss Kimberly S, and we ended up putting a total of $98 on the new BRU card.  We can pay that off in 15 days, no interest! CB just keeps saying "We came up!" "We done came up, y'all!"

I feel very good about the sacrifices I have made to save money for these items. They include - split ends, not that it matters because my hair is still growing and is
longer than it's ever been. And my jacked up feet. It's really hard to give myself a pedi (which I would normally do, can't waste money) when your belly is this big! It's hard to shave and groom :), but it's done sparingly. No waxing, save save save! And no hair removing cream, it's on the list of don'ts.  That's just the tip of the ice berg, things have been cancelled. I drop my extra money in a box for items she will need. It has been a God send. But when we pay this off, all we will have left are gift cards. Thank you all!

We are buying necessities now, in case I go into labor soon. What's left are toiletries and towels. The other items can wait for a little while. She has a place to sleep and a few things to clothe her.  Prayerfully food will come from mommy! Holy macaroni, I forgot diapers. We will need a few of those too.  Well my friend Ruby got us started, so I guess we are covered.

Thank you to everyone for your generosity! CB, Cacy and I are all very appreciative!!!

Hiccups!

Now that I know when Cacy has hiccups, I get so much enjoyment out of it. It makes me so happy, it's like entertainment. It so sweet.

33 weeks and 5 days - OH MY!

Well we are on our second trip to the hospital, only this time we had to check in.  Yesterday around 530 pm I noticed that I was spotting. So I called the doc and headed to the hospital. They wheeled me right up and then checked me in, after the placing monitors on me.

The first line if business (after a urine specimen of course) was to head to radiology. Cacy is fine and got an 8 out of 8!!! She was constantly moving, which made it hard for the tech to complete other test. She did her breathing exercise. She is measuring on target - she looks to be between 4 and 4.6 pounds. Her legs are the only part that are exactly or just slightly ahead of schedule. But that's it. The placenta looks good.

So back to L&D we went. The nurse came in and said can you feel your contractions? I said, uuhhh no. She said okay, and gave me water. My doctor came in to examine me and it appears my cervix was opening, less than 1 cm dilated.

The contractions were steady, and the first thing they did was give me water. And we all know how much water I drink and how much I eat, and it had been hours since I had anything. That could be causing the contractions. But the examine proved a little different of course.

So I had an IV put in, I had blood drawn, a steroids shot to help develop Cacy's lungs, another urine specimen, and medicine to help stop or slow the contractions.

The contractions are a little less regular but have not completely stopped. I will be here until I get another steroids shot late tonight. Hopefully I can go home after. We are just hoping and praying that  I can carry at least until 35 weeks. She will weight more and her lungs will be much more developed. I'm going to try and take  advantage of being confined to a bed all day no matter how uncomfortable it is. Cacy's doing well. Her heart beat is steady and she is definitely moving a lot. A whole lot!!! Which she always seems to do when I get good rest.

Keep us in your prayers!

My jewelry for the day.

Just for a point of reference, this was Tuesday:

Back Home and Officially on Bed Rest

I was discharged from the hospital Thursday night sometime, I arrived home around midnight. I slept like a baby, except for the bathroom runs, and I mean runs! I had to move to make it. After all the IV fluids and water I had, it was an adventure.

Friday, I didn't eat a whole lot. I ate as I was hungry, and I spent most of the day chasing down my prescription. Baby Cacy was taking it easy, which is always nerve racking. But last night she amped up a little and this morning she even more active, and I'm extremely happy!!!

Thanks for all the prayers, well wishes, and help. It's nice to have a network when your far from home and family.

So now that I'm on official bed rest, I'm surrounded by food and electronics. Maybe I can officially clean out my email this weekend.

The countdown has officially begun!

Today, I am 31 weeks, 9 more weeks to go. I have amped up my calcium intake as all of the apps have told me to. I'm not a fan of milk, so it's usually me drinking a huge glass of milk at about 10pm (clearly an after thought, but I do it).

I believe that Cacy has learned how to break dance this week. I swear she is popping and locking to Maze and Frankie Beverly!  She also gets excited during church when the preacher is really in the zone. This was revival week for us, so now I know it's not just our preacher she responds to.

I have not been to the gym in over 2 weeks. I really need to correct this. My mantra while I'm walking is "I'm going to have easy labor!"  Walking and prenatal yoga, it's calling my name. Maybe it would take more than 10 steps to get me winded, and my hips won't feel like they are going break under the pressure of the weight I have gained. Who knows?!

Yesterday we purchased the crib and mattress. So I feel a little more prepared. Next a pediatrician and daycare (I know 2 months is very short notice).
