30 down and 10 more to go!

As of this past Sunday, I am officially 30 weeks.  That means I have 10 more weeks to go!  Time is flying by, I really wish it would slow down.  I have been feeling the effects of this pregnancy, but I hear that boys give their moms such a hard time in the womb, so I feel lucky and blessed.  My feet only swell after a long day, along with my hands of course.  I was hoping that my feet would grow longer - not wider, but hey.  I am extremely tired, I am in the bathroom between 1 and 3 times each hour.  My hips hurt, my feet hurt after walking or standing less than 5 minutes, and I get winded so easily!  I have gained 27 pounds, but it seems to be mostly baby - not all.  With all that I am still very happy.  (In the words of Phil Robinson, happy, happy, happy!)

Saturday we took our first class at Lexington Medical Center.  The class was called "Your Special Delivery".  It was ALL DAY LONG.  We were so tired, and both of us started to doze off in the afternoon session.  It was nice to see the rooms we will be in when the big day arrives.  Hopefully we will remember all of the things we learned.  There are three different check in procedures, and areas, for the different circumstances.

I have an appointment tomorrow, prayerfully all will go well.  She has been extremely active today, I love days like this.

The Good Call

So, I got the "good" call today.  I passed my glucose test, and I am back on track.  I was told by several co-workers that I looked so worried over the last few days.  I didn't realize, I just thought I was tired and I looked tired.  They conceded that might be the case.

I actually had the 3 hour test yesterday.  I had to fast after midnight, until after 11 am the next day.  Fasting for a pregnant woman is medieval torture.  After drinking the glucose drink and then having four vials of blood drawn, I felt awful - all day.  I couldn't do anything to make myself get energy or stop feeling nauseous.  I was told by a co-worker that I was pale, looked tired, and very drawn.  Anyway, today was much better.  I felt better, and once I got the good news, I started planning my meals:

Breakfast: Twix
Morning Snack: Snickers
Lunch: Reese's Cup

Just kidding, I am going to take it easy on the sweets. That's so I can keep eating white bread, potatoes, rice and pasta!

The call!

I am now 26 weeks! What a blessing! Cacy is moving and grooving. It's so much fun to watch my tummy. Some times I compare it to seeing the image of the lochness monster.

Earlier this week I had my glucose test, the 1 hour test. My doctor said she would be surprised if I failed. But those of you that know me, know its a serious possibility. Well, the next day I receive "the call". I see the doctors office come up on my caller ID, and I just know. My sugar level is 3 points over! So, I have a 3 hour test scheduled. I'm going to take it easy on sugar for the next few days. If my level is still high (whether I pass or fail), I know I will need to really watch what I'm eating.

I will check-in in about a week or so.
